Longhua Martyr Memorial
The name “Longhua Martyr Memorial” was inscribed by Chen Yun, and the memorial has been open to the public since May 1997. The memorial’s major exhibits themed by “All for the people – An exhibition of heroic deeds of revolutionary martyrs and revolutionary pioneers in Shanghai” show the revolutionary course and heroic deeds of Shanghai martyrs since the Opium War in 1840. With an exhibition area of 5,000 sq m, the memorial displays 235 figures and more than 1,000 pieces of precious cultural relics, documents and photos. The display design is of modern style, and the auxiliary exhibits include traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, wood engravings, silk rug murals and wrought brass reliefs created by national famous artists. Electronic sky, spectra vision, video model, laser demonstration scene, etc. displayed with high technology are mostly the first in China. The memorial is National Key Martyr Memorial Protection Unit, one of the National Top 100 Patriotic Education Demonstration Base and National Civilized Industry Foundation Demonstration Site.
