Shanghai Film Museum
Shanghai is the birthplace of China’s films, and the root of Chinese films. In the over-100-year history of film, Shanghai films made brilliant cultural achievements. Covering a total area of 15,000 sq m, Shanghai Film Museum is an industry museum which combines presentation with activities, and visiting with experience, and covers cultural relic collection, academic research, social education and exhibition and display. The museum is divided into four themed exhibition areas, No.5 photostudio and an art cinema. The 80-seat art cinema is equipped with four-dimensional dynamic special-effect devices and “Dolby Atmos” cinema with multi-channel stereo equipment, fully embodying the world’s most advanced technological level of film screening. No.5 photostudio of Shanghai Film Studio was built in the 1960s, and has many multifunction devices such as a 300 sq m large screen and lighting and sound of modern stage. Shanghai Film Museum presents the charm of Shanghai films in the past over 100 years, and vividly presents film makers and stories behind films. It is not only a palace of art to meet people’s demands for film culture but also one of the most important windows to display films of Shanghai and even of China.
