
Zhaojue Temple
Initially built in Zhenguan Period of the Tang Dynasty, it was firstly named Jianyuan Temple and renamed Zhaojue Temple in the reign of Emperor Xizong of the Tang Dynasty, and was titled as the “Nonpareil Temple in Western Sichuan” in the Song Dynasty. It was destroyed in the late Ming Dynasty and rebuilt in early years of the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, covering around 300 mu. During the Cultural Revolution, the temple was partially destroyed and was rebuilt as the largest and grandest temple in Southwest China in 1987.
