
九里堤据传为三国蜀汉丞相诸葛亮为防成都水患而筑,唐代曾有维修,宋初成都知府刘熙古重修,故而先后称为诸葛堤和刘公堤。因为全长约有九里,清代中叶以后通称九里堤,民国以来九里堤逐渐毁圮。现存堤埂长28米,宽6米。
Jiulidi Site
It’s said Jiulidi was built by Zhuge Liang, Prime Minister of Shu Kingdom of Three Kingdom Period, for protecting Chengdu from flood. It’s maintained in the Tang Dynasty and was rebuilt by Liu Xigu, Magistrate of Chengdu in the Song Dynasty. For these reasons, it was named Zhuge Dike and Liugong Dike. As it was 9 li (1 li is equal to 500m) long, it is so named Jiulidi since the middle Qing Dynasty. As from establishment of the Republic of China, it is heavily destroyed. It is now only 28m long and 6m wide.
