1938年4月，中国共产党在国统区发行的报纸《新华日报》成都代订处（也称川西北总分销处或成都分馆）开设于此，一直到1947年3月最后撤离，是中国共产党在成都唯一公开的对外联络处，周恩来、董必武、彭德怀、林伯渠、吴玉章、邓颖超等都曾来过此地。

        Former Site of Xinhua Daily

        In April 1938, the Subscription Point in Chengdu (also known as General Distribution Office or Chengdu Sub-branch) of Xinhua Daily released by CPC in Kuomintang-ruled areas was set up here and was dissolved in March 1947. It was the sole public liaison division of CPC in Chengdu which was visited by the leaders of CPC such as Zhou Enlai, Dong Biwu, Peng Dehuai, Lin Boqu, Wu Yuzhang and Deng Yingchao.
