        Old Course of Jinhe River

Jinhe River, flowing from the west to east, was an artificial river built in Chengdu in the Tang Dynasty. The watercourse remained unchanged after being regulated in 1566. The 5,087m river flowed into the city from the west gate and out from the east gate. The small boat can pass through. There were over 20 bridges built in the late Qing Dynasty. In 1971, Jinhe River was reconstructed as air-raid shelter with cover; thus, the watercourse disappeared. This part of watercourse is the sole reserved Jinhe River.
