1911年，成都将军玉昆在原少城南边开辟商业用地，卖茶卖饭，演戏说书，打拳射箭，展览聚会，名为“公园”，通称少城公园，这是我国第一个称为“公园”的公共场所。此后通俗教育馆、图书馆、动物园、运动场相继建成，各种集会在此举行。1950年改名为人民公园。

        People’s Park

         In 1911, Yu Kun, Garrison General of Chengdu, opened up commercial land in the south of Shaocheng to serve tea and meals, put on plays, tell stories, play kung fu, play archery, exhibit and gathering, named Public Park and generally called as Shaocheng Park, it is the first public place named “Park” in China. Hereafter, popular education center, library, zoo and playground were built successively, and various assemblies were held here. It was renamed People’s Park in 1950.
