将军街原为清代少城的永安胡同，又称猫猫巷。1925年，四川军务督办杨森入住于此，下令改名为将军街。著名文字音韵学家赵少咸生前住此街原40号。辛亥革命元老夏之时曾住于本街东头，他的夫人就是后来闻名全国的女企业家、上海锦江饭店创办人董竹君。

        Jiangjun Street

        Jiangjun Street, known as Maomao Alley, was originally the Yong’an Lane of Shaocheng (Inner City) of Chengdu in the Qing Dynasty. In 1925, Yang Sen, Military Affairs Supervisor of Sichuan, resided here and ordered to rename it as Jiangjun Street. Zhao Shaoxian, famous litterateur and phonologist, once lived at #40 of this street. Xia Zhishi, the senior participating in the Xinhai Revolution, once lived at the east end of this street, and his wife is Dong Zhujun, a nationally renowned female entrepreneur and founder of Jinjiang Hotel in Shanghai.
