西起大学路东口，东接龙江路，因建于清初的南台寺而得名。乾隆年间翰林院大学士张问陶曾在此雅集群贤，临水赋诗，绘制《南台秋禊图》。1775年，乾隆发兵攻打大小金川，假寺为仓，贮粮草、火药，因爆炸全毁。1938年开辟新南门后建成此路。

        Nantai Road
        It starts from the crossing of Daxue Road East and reaches Longjiang Road to the east, given the name after Nantai Temple built in the early Qing Dynasty. During the Emperor Qianlong’s reign, Zhang Wentao, Grand Academician of Imperial Academy, gathered talented people to compose poems by water and draw the Painting of Nantai in Autumn. In 1775, Emperor Qianlong sent his troops to attack Greater Jinchuan and Lesser Jinchuan. The temple was built as a storage space for army provisions and gunpowder and destroyed in blast. In 1938, this road was built following establishment of Xinnanmen.
