Former King Shu’s Mansion & Qing Dynasty Examination Hall Site
King Shu’s Mansion was built in the early Ming Dynasty on former site for palaces of five dynasties in Chengdu with its external wall extending to the present Shuncheng Street in the east, Dongyu Street and Xiyu Street in the south, Dongchenggen Street in the west and Yangshi Street and Xiyulong Street in the north. It was destroyed in the war in the late Ming Dynasty and an examination hall, also called Huangcheng, was built on it in the Qing Dynasty. In 1968, the original Huangcheng was demolished and the Exhibition Hall of Great Ideas of Mao Zedong was built, which was then transformed into Sichuan Science and Technology Museum in 2006.
